Tiger Boys Basketball Rolls Past DeLaSalle in Husker Classic Finale
Higginsville, Mo (December 12, 2025) – The Tiger boys basketball team dominated from the start in its final matchup of the Husker Classic on Dec. 12 in Higginsville. The Tigers had 11 players score in a 60-20 rout over the DeLaSalle Charter School Lions on Friday night.
An 11-0 run opened the game for the Tigers as senior Booker O’Neill started hot from the field, scoring 10 of the first 11 points with two 3-pointers and two layups on the way to an 18-2 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter was even stronger for the Tigers, outscoring the Lions 23-6 to take a 41-8 lead into halftime.
The teams traded baskets midway through the third quarter with the Tigers holding a 52-17 advantage before closing the game by outscoring DeLaSalle 8-3 in the fourth quarter to secure the 60-20 win.
O’Neill led the Tigers with 16 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Junior Drake Simonitis scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the first double-double of his high school career. Junior Owen O’Dell and freshman Roman Jones each scored six points. Juniors Hunter Dallas and Kalib Strickland added five points apiece.
Junior Brett Jones scored four points, while senior Thomas Stanley and juniors Jarrett Racasi, Daelin Dickerson, and sophomore Spence Gibbs each added two points.
The win improved the Tigers’ record to 2-2 as they headed into the last week of games before the holiday break.
