Excelsior Springs Volleyball Picks Up Two Wins, Falls in Five to Lawson
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo., Sept. 25, 2025 — The Lady Tiger volleyball team picked up a pair of wins last week by defeating the Winnetonka Griffins and the Grandview Bulldogs.
On Sept. 23, the Lady Tigers swept Winnetonka with set wins of 25-7, 25-23 and 25-12. Senior Jordin Price led the offense with nine kills. Junior Camden McDaniels added seven, and junior Lillah Shue finished with four kills to go along with 18 assists from the setter position. Senior Maya Watkins led the defense with 18 digs, while junior Madi Breshears had 15 and Shue added 12.
A road trip to Grandview on Sept. 25 resulted in another sweep, with the Lady Tigers winning 25-11, 25-11 and 25-7. Price tallied 10 kills, McDaniels added eight, and junior Bayli Crowley had four. Shue once again directed the offense, finishing with 22 assists. Breshears led the defense with 15 digs, and Watkins chipped in with 10.
The Lady Tigers also hosted Lawson on Sept. 22, falling 3-2 in a five-set battle. The Cardinals won the first two sets 25-20 before Excelsior Springs answered with wins of 25-22 and 25-18 to force a deciding fifth set. Lawson capitalized on Tiger miscues to claim the match 15-10. Price had 17 kills to lead the way, while Shue added seven kills and 18 assists. Junior Raelyn Kirtley finished with a team-high 20 assists.
The Lady Tigers are now 5-11-1 on the season with upcoming matches against Raytown South and Smithville.
