Breaking News: Homicide Investigation Underway in Excelsior Springs

Early this morning, Clay County Parks and Recreation employees made a disturbing discovery at Rocky Hollow Park, located at 14812 Old Quarry Road, Excelsior Springs, MO. They found the body of an unidentified white male, estimated to be between 35-40 years old.

The discovery was made at approximately 8:15AM during routine maintenance. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, with Public Relations Manager Sarah Boyd, has since confirmed that the case is being treated as a homicide investigation. The identity of the deceased and the details of the incident are still under investigation, and the body is believed to have been at the location for a short duration.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking information from the public to aid in their investigation. If you have any information that might be helpful, please contact the tips hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

This is now a homicide investigation.

A County park worker found the body at about 8:15 a.m. today off a roadway at Rocky Hollow Park, 14812 Old Quarry Road, Excelsior Springs, Mo.

The victim remains unidentified. He appears to be a white or Hispanic man between the approximate ages of 35 and 45 years old. Evidence indicates the body was placed at the location recently.

We have attached a picture of a tattoo on the victim’s upper left arm. We ask anyone who recognizes it or has any other information about this case to call investigators at 816-407-3723 or the TIPS Hotline.
