Local Churches Gear Up for Summer Vacation Bible Schools

Faith-based programs offer fun, learning, and community for local youth

As summer approaches, churches throughout the Excelsior Springs area are preparing to welcome children for Vacation Bible School (VBS) programs. These weeklong events provide a mix of biblical lessons, music, crafts, and games, creating meaningful and memorable experiences for kids of all ages.

Here’s a roundup of VBS offerings in the area:

  • Rayville Christian Union Church is already underway, hosting its program June 2–6 from 9 a.m. to noon.
  • Union Baptist Church in Orrick will hold VBS June 8–12 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Free bus transportation is available by calling 816-813-0484.
  • Calvary Church on Benton Avenue in Excelsior Springs begins its VBS on June 16.
  • Pisgah Baptist Church will host its “Wonder Junction” VBS July 6–10. More details and online registration are available at pisgahvbs2024.myanswers.com/wonder-junction.
  • Crescent Lake Christian Church will offer VBS from July 7–10.
  • Rock Falls Baptist Church, located off Highway N on the way to Richmond, has scheduled its VBS for the evenings of July 21-25 from 5:30-7:30pm.
  • Mosby Baptist Church is also planning to hold its VBS the week of July 14.
  • Lawson Baptist Church has a VBS planned for sometime in July. Further details are expected to be announced soon.
  • Excelsior Springs Baptist Church will hold Summerfest VBS July 27-31. Sign up: https://vbspro.events/p/a67f18
  • Excelsior Springs Church of the Nazarene (1308 Tracy Ave) June 16-20 from 6pm-8pm. Kindergarten to 5th this fall. They will take a fun journey with Joseph from prison to palace! To pre-register, click here. (Pre-registration is helpful but not required.)

Local churches encourage early registration, as spots may fill quickly. Vacation Bible School programs are typically free and open to all children in the community.
