Lady Tigers Shine Early with Multiple Medalists at Tussle for the Tiara
North Kansas City (Dec. 6, 2025) – The Lady Tiger wrestlers kicked off their season by packing the podium at North Kansas City’s Tussle for the Tiara Tournament on December 6, coming home with a fifth-place team finish and eight top-four medalists, competing against 16 other teams.
Sophomore Haylee Ray went 2-1 on the day to finish in second place. She picked up a 15-0 technical fall win over Mackenzie Dean of Center High School in the first round and beat Kylie Tomlinson of Neosho by fall before falling 6-3 to Natalee Joiner of Lebanon.
Sophomore Lilly Goetz battled her way to a second-place finish with a 3-1 record. She opened with a win by fall against Claire Caley of Clinton, followed by another fall over Paloma Juarez. She added a win by fall over Ellianah Rothman of Lebanon before falling 7-5 in the championship match to Ulalia Butler of Raytown.
Junior Analese Happy fell in her first match before rattling off three straight wins, two by fall and one by major decision, to claim third place.
Sophomore Bristol Sharp lost by decision in her first match of the day before winning four straight matches by fall to take home third.
Senior Nevaeh Happy had a first-round bye before dropping a second-round major decision. She bounced back with four consecutive wins by fall to finish with a third-place medal.
Senior Jona Jansen and sophomores Emily Hilliard and Saydee Kurtz each ended their day with fourth-place finishes for the Lady Tigers.
The North Kansas City Hornets won the team title with 180 points. Oak Park was second with 162, Lebanon finished third with 138, Carthage was fourth with 134, and the Lady Tigers took fifth with 126 points.
