Excelsior Springs Election Day Guide: What You Need to Know Before You Vote

Excelsior Springs, Mo. (April 6, 2025) — As Excelsior Springs area voters across Clay and Ray counties prepare to head to the polls on Tuesday, April 8, the Excelsior Citizen has put together a guide to help make the process as smooth as possible. From where to vote to what’s on the ballot, here’s everything you need to know.

When to Vote

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. If you’re in line by 7 p.m., you will be allowed to vote.

School Board Candidate Information

Voters will choose from several candidates running for the Excelsior Springs School Board. To help you make an informed decision, we invited each candidate to complete a detailed questionnaire on their views, background, and priorities.

What’s on the Ballot

Voters will be deciding on:

  • School Board Candidates
  • A proposed tax levy for the Excelsior Springs School District
  • Local propositions, depending on your precinct

Be sure to check your sample ballot to see what will appear in your area.

What to Bring

Missouri law requires voters to show a valid photo ID. Acceptable forms include:

  • Missouri driver’s license
  • Missouri non-driver’s license
  • U.S. passport
  • Military ID

If you do not have a photo ID, you may still vote using a provisional ballot under certain circumstances.
