Every Neighbor Counts: Good Samaritan Center seeks donations for annual Point-in-Time Count on Jan. 28

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo. — The Good Samaritan Center of Excelsior Springs is asking the community to help stock essential supplies ahead of its annual Every Neighbor Counts – Point-in-Time Count on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026, from 5–8 p.m.

The Point-in-Time Count is held each year to connect with neighbors experiencing homelessness and ensure they are counted and supported with basic necessities and local resources. During the evening, unhoused community members will be invited to the Good Samaritan Center and provided items that can help them stay healthy and safe during winter conditions.

Requested donation items

The Good Samaritan Center is currently collecting:

  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste

  • Deodorant

  • Lotion

  • Chapstick

  • Hot hands/hand warmers

  • Wipes

  • Thick/heavy gloves, hats and socks

  • Basic first-aid kits (Band-Aids)

Donations may be dropped off at the Good Samaritan Center, 108 S. Thompson Ave., Excelsior Springs, MO 64024, or brought the night of the count. For drop-off instructions or questions, call 816-630-2718.
