Excelsior Springs, Mo. – With cooler weather on the way, a big cuddle buddy is ready to settle into a forever home where he can offer a lifetime of companionship and lots of entertainment.

Meet Archer, a one-year-old neutered male, believed to be a German Shepherd–Lab mix. Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center staff describe him as an energetic Scooby Doo. He is curious, loves to move, and highly motivated by attention and rewards.

Archer has spent time in a home and does well with children. However, he is not suited for homes with cats due to his strong chase instinct. He responds to basic commands like “sit” and settles once he has had time to burn off energy.

His ideal home would have a backyard to run in, companions to play with daily, and a family willing to teach him new tricks and feed him some scooby snacks.

Since his arrival at the shelter on August 18, he has already been fully vetted and is ready for his forever home. His $150 adoption fee covers his neuter, heartworm test, vaccinations, microchip, and a wellness visit at the vet. He is available now through the Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center.

Interested adopters should contact ESACC at 816-630-0816 to make an appointment. All potential forever homes are subject to an application process to ensure Archer makes it to the right place. To stay updated when animals become available for adoption, or to follow Archer’s journey to adoption, please follow ESACC’s Facebook page.
