The Excelsior Springs boys wrestling team competed fiercely on February 16th and 17th in their district competition, which also served as the state qualifier. Wrestlers needed to navigate both days without incurring two losses to qualify for the state.
The Excelsior Springs Girls Wrestling Team competed in the district competition on Feb 9-10, aiming for state qualification. Mackenzie Hatfield, a Principal’s Honor Roll sophomore at Excelsior Springs High School, clinched the 2024 Silver Gloves National Boxing Championship in Independence, Missouri, defeating the nation’s top-ranked boxer in her class. Balancing academics and boxing, Hatfield’s victory on February 3rd highlights her as a rising star in amateur boxing.
