In an effort to combat teen drug abuse, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office is inviting parents to an event titled “Hidden in Plain Sight,” which will take place at Winnetonka High School (5815 NE 48th St., Kansas City, Mo.) on Monday, March 18, at 6 p.m. This free event will educate parents and guardians on how to recognize signs of illegal drug use by allowing them to inspect a staged teenager’s bedroom and vehicle at the school.

On Thursday, March 7, 2024, Kyle P. Barrett, 40, of Lawson, Missouri, was sentenced to a three-year term in the Missouri Department of Corrections stemming from a hit-and-run incident on December 2022 that injured a young child.
