Siloam Spring Park, a neglected corner of downtown, has been given a new lease on life thanks to a joint effort between the city’s parks department, school district, and the McElwee family. At a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday, community members celebrated the transformation of the space, now revitalized with playground equipment salvaged from the recently demolished Lewis Elementary School and a renewed sense of purpose for future generations.

Two Vietnam War veterans from Excelsior Springs, Dean Pierson and Ron Smith, recently took an emotional journey to Washington, D.C., courtesy of the Honor Flight Network, where they visited memorials that honor their service and sacrifice, reliving memories of their time in the military and reflecting on the bonds they shared with fellow soldiers.
