Animal of the Week: Meet Grizz, the Gentle Giant Ready to Be Your New Best Friend

Introducing Grizz, a 14-month-old Labrador mix with a heart full of love and energy to match

A handsome face is only the tip of the iceberg with Grizz; he’s a well-mannered pup who has already mastered basic commands and is house-trained. He has a friendly demeanor, and he gets along well with other canine friends, making him a great companion for households with existing pets.

Real Grizz, fake background. Can't you imagine this guy in a yard of his own?

Described by the Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center as “the sweetest big puppy,” Grizz would thrive in a home where he can engage in play and exploration. He’s particularly fond of playing ball and would do best in a home with a spacious yard, and with a family that has older children to play fetch with!

Grizz came to the center through an owner surrender, and while he’s been well-loved, he’s now looking for a fresh start. His ideal family will be ready to continue teaching him tricks, sharing plenty of belly rubs, and making time for daily play.

Grizz is available for adoption through the Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center, located at 1298 S Marietta St, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024. Call 816-630-0816 to learn more about him or to schedule a meet-and-greet. Appointments are required for adoption visits.

For more information on the adoption process, and to view other pets waiting for their forever homes, visit the Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center’s official Facebook page.

Don’t miss the chance to add the world’s friendliest Grizz-ly to your family!
