Exciting Updates for the Farmer’s Market: New Time & Location, Nutrition Program for Seniors, and Merch!

The Excelsior Springs Farmer’s Market is making exciting updates for the upcoming season! From participating in a nutrition program specifically for the community’s seniors to adding a second location and time and launching a line of must-have merchandise, the market is set to have its best season yet!

Due to popular demand, the Farmers Market is expanding its 2024 season with new times and in two locations! The 2024 season kicks off on Wednesday, June 5th, and runs every Wednesday until October. Each Wednesday, a morning market will be held at the Community Center from 9:00 am to 11:30 am, and an evening market will be held at The Hitch Lot from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Market is also planning to partner with the 414 Company in the case of bad weather (heavy winds, rain, thunderstorms, intense heat), utilizing their basement for vendors to set up in.

To make good nutrition accessible to the community’s seniors, the Farmer’s Market is partnering with The Missouri Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (MoSFMNP) to provide benefits to low-income seniors (age 60+). Seniors receive $50 in benefits annually. Applications will be accepted and processed Friday, April 12th, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm at the Community Center. The required documentation can be found on the Farmers Market Facebook page.

To make your shopping experience even more incredible, the Farmers Market has unveiled a new line of merchandise! Show your Excelsior pride with everything from a tote bag to a sweatshirt. All clothing items (tank, T-shirt, long-sleeved tee, sweatshirt) are unisex fit and available in sizes small to 3XL. Orders need to be placed by May 20th and can be picked up at the evening market on June 5th. You can shop the merch here

With all these exciting updates, the 2024 season is sure to bring smiles to patrons, old and new.
