On a cloudy Friday morning, May 5th, 2023, the Good Samaritan Golf Tournament brought together 18 teams from all over the community for a day of fun, charity, and friendly competition. This year’s event was special, as it had the most sponsor prizes in the tournament’s history.
The annual event was held at the Excelsior Springs Country Club, where the participants enjoyed the well-manicured greens and lush fairways. The event was organized by the Good Samaritan Center which has been running the tournament for over a decade, and it has become a highly anticipated event in the community.

The tournament began early in the morning, with the participants teeing off in a shotgun start. The atmosphere was electric, with everyone eager to show off their skills on the golf course. The teams were a mix of seasoned golfers and enthusiastic amateurs, but everyone was united in their love of the game and their desire to help a good cause.

The tournament was competitive, but there was also a strong spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Players encouraged each other, shared tips and tricks, and cheered on their teammates. At the end of the day, the real winners were the children and families who will benefit from the funds raised by the tournament. The Good Samaritan Foundation hadn’t calculated the total raised but as always, the money will be used to provide essential services to those in need in Excelsior Springs.

Sara Noblet the director of the Good Samaritan Center said the tournament was a resounding success, and everyone involved left with a sense of pride and accomplishment. It was a day of good golf, good friends, and most importantly, good deeds. The event was a testament to the power of community and the spirit of giving.
