SUMMARY:Spring on the Farm at Watkins Mill State Park
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the arrival of spring at Watkins Mill State Park and Watkins Woolen Mill State Historic Site.\n\nThis year’s Spring on the Farm event will feature hands-on activities with the Greater Kansas City Master Gardeners in the Watkins heirloom garden\, as well as other demonstrations on the back porch of the Watkins home. The historic Mount Vernon Church and the octagonal Franklin School will be open during the event.\n\nAdmission to the event is free and open to the public. Mill tours will be available for $5 per adult and $4 per youth (ages 6-17). Mill tours are free for children ages 5 and under who are accompanied by an adult.

Please park at the visitor’s center with plenty of time to walk out to the historic site.\n\nJune 6 location will be near the boat launch overlooking the lake. Please park in the boat launch lot.\nClass starts promptly at 10:30am. Please bring water and your own mat.\n\nAbout the Instructor and Class:Tosha Jackson is a certified yoga instructor with over 8 years experience. Her goal is to help people discover a gentle form of exercise that empowers them to appreciate their bodies for what they can do and to gently push their limits to increase their fitness levels.\n\nGentle Yoga focuses on increasing flexibility\, easy strength building and balance. It is ideal for those seeking a slower-paced\, but somewhat challenging\, class.
