SUMMARY:Excelsior Singletrack Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting
DESCRIPTION:Please park at the airport and walk across the road to a small clearing where you will find the trailhead.\n\nCome Celebrate the official opening of Excelsior Singletrack. This is the beginning of an eventual 5 mile trail system handbuilt by volunteers for non-motorized mountain bikes\, and hikers.\n\nThere will be a short presentation followed by a ribbon cutting. We then invite you to hit the trail by foot or mountain bike(weather permitting).\n\nSingletrack trail systems have the ability to boost the local economy\, promote public health\, and raise home values. We can’t wait to activate this beautiful green space and share this opportunity with the entire community.

SUMMARY:Trail Work Day
DESCRIPTION:We have a bit more of a honeysuckle jungle to get through\, but the woods are about to open up for much more easy sailing\nMeet at the airport parking lot. The trail head is just across the road at the clearing. If you can’t arrive at the start time we will be working on the trail that goes off to the left. The portion of trail we will be working on is just below the road.(see picture). You can also park at the golf course if they are not too busy\n\nWear sturdy shoes\, long pants and long sleeves. Gloves are a must to avoid blisters. Safety glasses are recommended. Bring a way to carry water with you if possible.\n\nWe will have plenty of tools available\, but feel free to bring your own pulaski or pick axe. We will primarily be removing Shrub Honeysuckle by the roots to shape the trail corridor.\n\nThis is strenuous physical work\, but anyone is welcome to join us. All volunteers are required to sign a waiver found here-https://urbantrailco.com/volunteer/volunteer-waiver\nIf you have already completed the waiver for previous workdays you do not need to do it again.
