Tigers Cross Country Turn in Solid Times at 20-Team Marshall Meet

MARSHALL, Mo. – The Marshall Owls hosted a 20-team invitational Sept. 11 that included the Excelsior Springs boys and girls cross country teams. The Tigers finished with two top-30 runners in each division.

Senior Liam Hedding led the Tigers with a ninth-place finish in the boys’ race, clocking a time of 20:02.29. He trailed winner Reece Sickler, who crossed in 17:40.72. Senior William Tade placed 26th in 22:48.1, while sophomore Ian Overfield finished 37th in 24:32. Senior Conrad Purnell took 40th in 24:49.03, senior Henry Lockwood was 41st in 24:52.26, and freshman Drake Whitney rounded out the boys with a 46th-place finish in 25:52.47.

On the girls’ side, senior Kirsten Stout led the way with an 11th-place finish in 26:09.21. Sophomore Luna Bigham was 27th in 32:33.96. Both trailed winner Maylen Parks of Glasgow, who finished in 23:56.57.
