Excelsior Springs, Mo. (December 9, 2025) – The Lady Tigers and the Winnetonka Griffins wrestlers only hit the mat for six matches due to open weight classes on Dec. 9. The Griffins came away with four wins in those six matches, along with three open weight classes, to earn a 42-36 win over the Lady Tiger grapplers.

Senior Neveah Happy dropped the first match of the night by fall in the first period at 115 pounds. Senior Lillah Shue picked up a first-period win by fall at 125 pounds. Haylee Ray followed with a win by fall at 145 pounds for the only Lady Tiger wins on the night.

Senior Jona Jansen lost by fall in the third period at 155 pounds. Sophomore Saydee Kurtz fell by fall in the third period at 170 pounds, and freshman Makynlei Craig fell by fall in the first period at 190 pounds.

The Lady Tigers picked up points in the 105, 110, 120, and 140-pound weight classes, but it was not enough to come away with the dual victory. The Lady Tigers will take to the mat this weekend in the annual Excelsior Springs Tournament as 20 schools compete.
