Nurture Family Chiropractic Celebrates Grand Opening in Excelsior Springs
June 15, 2023 – Dr. Ashley Carter celebrated the grand opening of her practice, Nurture Family Chiropractic, 463 S Thompson Ave., with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce. Carter said she’s been operating since February, and the community of Excelsior Springs has welcomed her with open arms.
At the start of the new year, Dr. Carter had been deliberating on whether to open her own practice when she was visiting Excelsior Springs and saw the space on Thompson for lease. She seized the opportunity to fulfill her dream. Holding a bachelor’s degree in science of human biology and a doctorate in Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park, Kansas, Dr. Carter brings a wealth of knowledge to her practice.
The road to becoming a chiropractor was no easy feat for Dr. Carter. The chiropractic program she completed was an accelerated degree that required year-round dedication and hundreds of credit hours. Alongside the comprehensive curriculum, she was required to pass five board exams, making her well-versed in the musculoskeletal system, physical therapy, and her specializations of pediatrics and treating those who are pregnant.
Dr. Carter has continued her education. She’s currently enrolled in a chiropractic internist program, which allows her to explore functional medicine and address the root causes of her patients’ health concerns. This holistic approach involves investigating factors such as supplementation, diet, and even blood work analysis to provide natural solutions.
With her diverse range of expertise, Dr. Carter hopes to cater to the needs of the Excelsior Springs community. She encouraged potential clients to visit her practice and experience the benefits of chiropractic care firsthand. “You only have one spine,” she remarked, emphasizing the significance of maintaining spinal health. Carter said she believes regular chiropractic care can be beneficial for numerous reasons.
Dr. Carter said she and her family are happy to be a part of the revitalization of downtown Excelsior Springs and expressed her gratitude for the community’s support. “We truly love it here,” she smiled. “I hope to be here for years to come.”
