Excelsior Springs’ Mid-Continent Public Library held a special program Saturday afternoon that had the patrons going wild! The Kansas City Exotic Animal Education Institute (aka KC Exotics R Us) came to the library with a plethora of exotic animals to show to the large audience of children and adults who had gathered. The traveling exhibition is advertised as “an educational outreach program that supports wildlife conservation and educates the public about the importance of protecting natural spaces for wildlife and creating safe places for us all to coexist.” The animals they displayed on Saturday included a 3-banded armadillo, a chinchilla, tortoises, hedgehogs, and a coatimundi named Squeak. According to their website, their animals have appeared on The Discovery Channel, Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild, The David Letterman Show, Animal Exploration with Jarod Miller, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Rachel Rae, and Animal Planet.
