Lady Tigers Split Four-Game Week, Finish Conference Play at 6-4

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, Mo., Oct. 12, 2025 — A four-game split over the week put the Lady Tiger softball record at 17-10 with one game remaining in the regular season before district play begins.

The offense started the week off on fire with a doubleheader sweep of the Raytown South Cardinals on Monday, Oct. 6. A 22-hit performance between the two games ended with 20-0 and 18-0 wins. Seniors Willa Schreier and Keira Romazon each collected three hits in the first game of the doubleheader, with Schreier driving in six runs. Seniors Jenna Thomas, Kayden Rogers, and Kinley Rogers, and sophomore Courtney James each had two hits in the game. Senior Josie Casler left the yard with a two-run home run for the Lady Tigers. James picked up the win in the circle, no-hitting the Cardinals in three innings and striking out six.

The second game of the night had four more Lady Tigers collect multi-hit games. Senior Bella Loeffert had three hits, driving in three runs and scoring three runs to lead the way. Sophomore Reese Ryan had a two-hit night, along with Kayden Rogers collecting two hits. Casler picked up her second home run of the night with a two-run blast in the first inning. Freshman Haleigh Reeves picked up the win in the circle, allowing just one hit and striking out seven.

The offense was quieted on the trip to Smithville on Oct. 7, with the Warriors downing the Lady Tigers by the score of 4-0. The Warriors scored four runs on five hits, with two runs in the first inning and two in the fourth inning to pick up the win. The Lady Tigers were only able to muster three hits in the loss, with sophomore Haylee Ray picking up a hit in the second inning, Kinley Rogers adding one in the fourth, and Romazon adding one in the sixth. The offense was only able to get one runner to second base all night in the shutout loss. Romazon went the distance in the circle, allowing five hits and just two earned runs in the loss.

The Kearney Bulldogs slugged their way to a 13-1 win to finish out conference play. The Bulldogs pounded out 15 hits and took advantage of three Lady Tiger errors. A five-run first inning was followed by four runs in the second, three runs in the third, and one in the fifth. Casler picked up the lone run batted in for the Lady Tigers, driving in Loeffert on a sacrifice fly. The Lady Tigers finished up conference play with a 6-4 record.
