Jury Trial Set for Keith Bass in Excelsior Springs Double Homicide

Excelsior Springs, MO – Jury trial has been scheduled for Keith Bass, the suspect in the double homicide of Theresa Bass and Bobby Neal Jr.

Theresa Bass was shot and killed on September 7, 2022, in her Excelsior Springs home. Her friend, Bobby Neal Jr., who was also shot during the incident, succumbed to his injuries on March 19, 2023.

Keith Bass, Theresa’s estranged husband, was identified as the shooter by both Theresa’s daughters present at the scene and by Bobby Neal Jr. himself. Bass confessed to the murders and is currently being held on a $2 million bond at the Clay County Detention Center.

He faces two counts of first-degree murder, each carrying a potential sentence of death or life in prison without parole, and two additional charges of armed criminal action.

A pre-trial conference is scheduled for September 30, 2025, followed by a five-day jury trial beginning on October 27, 2025.
