Excelsior Springs Launches Comprehensive Plan Public Engagement Opportunities

The Hall of Waters - Embrace the Current

Excelsior Springs residents are invited to share their vision for the future of the city as part of the ongoing Comprehensive Planning process. The city is seeking public input to shape a guiding plan for future growth and development in key areas such as land use, transportation, housing types, infrastructure, and economic development.

The Comprehensive Plan aims to provide a roadmap for Excelsior Springs’ development, ensuring the community’s growth is aligned with the needs and aspirations of its residents. City staff, stakeholders, and the public will work together to create a framework that will influence decision-making in the years to come.

To gather feedback, the city has launched several engagement opportunities, including a public survey that will remain open until April 25. The survey, available online at excelsioracommunityrising.com, allows residents to share their thoughts and ideas about the city’s future. For those without online access, paper copies of the survey can be found at the Hall of Waters and the Excelsior Springs Community Center.

In addition to the survey, the city is hosting two public open houses to further engage the community. The first will take place in person on April 16, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. This informal event allows residents to come and go as they please, with no formal presentation. The second open house will be a virtual-only event, running from April 30 to May 14, 2025, accessible through the project website.

The city encourages all residents to participate and provide valuable input that will contribute to the success of the project. Those unable to attend in person can still engage with the process through the virtual open house.
