They are a good way to gain experience with steeks on a small project. \nThe finished gloves are approximately 8.5 inches around the palm and about 6 inches long. They can be made larger or smaller by changing gauge or by adding pattern repeats for either length or circumference. If changing the circumference\, the location for the thumb may need to be adjusted. \nThe gloves require approximately 270 yards in two or more colors. The pattern includes charts and directions for either two or four colors\, but can be adjusted to use more or fewer colors. DESCRIPTION:In this workshop we’ll explore the basics of designing Fair Isle and stranded knitting projects. Stranded knitting can be incorporated into existing patterns or you can design your own patterns and motifs to fit a desired project. Students will spend time creating or modifying patterns using variations in color choices or motif adjustments. We’ll discuss how gauge and yarn types impact the process\, how to center the pattern motifs and how to ensure a good fit between the pattern motifs and the project.
