My Doll and Me Tea Party

Guests (ages 7 and over) are invited to bring their favorite American Girl Doll (or any 18″ doll friend) for afternoon tea at Watkins’ Bethany Plantation. Guests are encouraged to wear their own historic tea party attire for an afternoon of tea, treats and activities. Enjoy sweet confections, savories, finger sandwiches, fruit and a variety of teas as well as learn about 19th century tea party etiquette. You and your doll’s visit begins by receiving a Victorian Calling Card inscribed with your names to be invited into the formal parlor of the family home, just as it would have been done in the past. This one of a kind event will be held June 22nd. Tea is from 1:30 to 4:00 pm. Tickets are limited and by reservation only. Ages 7 to 15 must be accompanied by their doll and a Participating Adult. The cost is $10.00 per individual. Dolls admitted at no charge. After tea all are invited to enjoy a talk about collecting by Dr. Madeline Rislow National Museum of Toys and Miniatures in Kansas City.
