The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has made public its 2022 annual report, which has highlighted some of the significant reductions and increases in statistics from the previous year. According to the report, the Traffic Safety Unit increased its DWI arrests by an impressive 133%, leading to a significant decrease of 39% in fatal crashes in Clay County. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Sheriff’s Office and their commitment to ensuring the safety of the community.
Another notable increase was reported in the Sex Offender Registration and Enforcement Unit, which recorded a 43% increase in investigations of non-compliant sex offenders. Additionally, prosecutions of these offenders rose by a significant 218%. These statistics are a clear indication of the Sheriff’s Office’s proactive measures to ensure that offenders are brought to justice and held accountable for their actions.
