Citizen Pet of the Week: Zelda
Excelsior Springs, Mo. (March 9, 2025) – Welcome to another edition of Pet of the Week! This week, meet Zelda, owned by Daphnie Youngblood.
Zelda is a two-and-a-half-year-old schnauzer/wirehair mix, and she’s a bundle of energy and love. Daphnie and her family have had the pleasure of calling her their own for almost a year. Zelda was adopted from a smaller shelter outside of Trenton, Missouri. Daphnie explains, “They were going to ship her off to New York three days after we met her, but they were more than happy to adopt her to someone more local.”
When it comes to what Zelda loves most, she has a few clear favorites. “Her favorite thing is zoomies, followed closely by meeting new people. She also loves watching movies or TV with us. She’s the perfect snuggle buddy,” says Daphnie.
As for what Daphnie loves most about her furry companion, it’s no surprise that Zelda’s affectionate side steals the show. “My favorite thing about her is how much of a snuggler she is at bedtime. She just wants to be close, and I love that about her,” Daphnie shares.
Though Zelda isn’t a fan of car rides, she’s all about adventure and loves visiting new places. “She hates car rides but loves going to new places,” Daphnie shared with the Citizen.
