A new program is delivering weekday meals and a friendly check-in to homebound seniors in Excelsior Springs, and organizers are looking for volunteers to help keep it moving.
In a meeting held at the school district board room due to elevator replacement work at the Hall of Waters, the Excelsior Springs City Council tabled the Orion golf course agreement for further review. Council approved cemetery fee schedule changes, a Prathersville water agreement amendment and a one-year Motorola support contract.
A late-starting meeting still covered a lot: attendance and funding trends, high school gains, rising early childhood special education needs, and a new five-year roadmap for the district. Superintendent Mark Bullimore urged families to keep attendance front and center and invited community members to help write the next steps of the district’s 2026–2031 strategic plan.
The Tigers returned to action with three games between January 5 and 9, finishing the stretch with one win and two losses. The week began on January 5 with a dramatic 50–48 comeback victory over the Cameron Dragons.
