The Excelsior Springs City Council has recently approved a proposal to implement a License Plate Recognition (LPR) camera system throughout the city. This decision, backed by a professional services agreement with Flock Safety, marks a significant step in enhancing local law enforcement capabilities.
Discussions ranged from the restructuring of rates at the Excelsior Springs Golf Course to the advanced implementation of License Plate Reader technology by Flock Group Inc. The council also set the stage for the upcoming 2024 Municipal Election by establishing key filing dates. Further, they reviewed a comprehensive pavement condition report from Lamp Rynearson and scrutinized the city’s financial health through the October Revenue Report.
The meeting began on an unusual note. Visitor Diane Elliott confronted the board about not being allowed to address them regarding the alleged assault of her grandson in the High School bathroom earlier this year.
