The Excelsior Springs City Council on Monday declared Oct. 20-26 as Business Women of Missouri Week, recognizing the economic contributions of women-owned businesses. The council also approved a tax abatement for renovations to create a new artist and maker space downtown and authorized upgrades to the city’s ambulance fleet, prioritizing both community development and public safety.

Nearly 100 people gathered in downtown Excelsior Springs on Saturday for the first-ever “Bras on Broadway” fundraiser, where decorated bras modeled by local men were auctioned off, raising $3,750 for the Excelsior Springs Hospital’s Pink Ribbon Fund to support breast cancer patients.
