Boys Wrestlers Earn Wins Over Pleasant Hill and Maysville at Cameron Quad
Cameron, Mo. (December 10, 2025) – The Tiger wrestlers traveled to Cameron on Wednesday night to take part in an annual quadrangular with Pleasant Hill, Maysville, and Cameron. They picked up two team dual wins and one loss on the night, defeating Pleasant Hill and Maysville and falling to Cameron.
The dual with the Maysville Wolverines had the Tigers pick up five wins on the mat, along with six open weight classes earning points. Sophomore Logan Bates won the first match of the dual with a first-period win by fall at 126 pounds. Junior Carson VanDoremalen battled to an 11-8 win by decision at 144 pounds. Senior Cooper Collins made quick work at 150 pounds with a first-period win by fall at the 50-second mark. Senior Gaige Carr topped that with an 18-second win by fall at 157 pounds. Freshman Maison Logan picked up a win by medical forfeit at 175 pounds before freshman Landry Hays fell at 190 pounds.
The Tigers outwrestled the Pleasant Hill Roosters to a 48-36 win for their second victory of the night. They picked up seven wins on the mat, along with an open weight class, to secure the win. Sophomore Nathan Tylec dropped the first match with a first-period fall. Bates put his opponent back on the mat in the first period at 126 pounds. Freshman Parker Scoma earned his first high school win with a second-period fall at 132 pounds. VanDoremalen went to the third period before winning by fall at 144 pounds. Collins picked up another first-period win by fall at 150 pounds before Carr did the same at 157 pounds. Senior Conrad Purnell dropped the 165-pound match by fall with one second remaining in the first period. Freshman Brayden Killion lost by fall with one second remaining in the third period at 175 pounds. Hays got the Tigers back in the win column with a first-period pin, and Lester picked up the final win of the dual at 215 pounds with a second-period win by fall. Junior David Xiong dropped the 285-pound match by fall in the first period to finish the dual.
The Tigers closed the night against the Cameron Dragons, falling 52-29. The Tigers won three matches in the dual, with Bates, VanDoremalen, and Collins picking up wins. Bates earned a late first-period pin at 126 pounds. VanDoremalen dominated the 144-pound match with a 17-1 technical fall victory that ended with two seconds remaining in the first period. Collins battled into the third period before winning by fall at the 5:24 mark of the 150-pound match.
The Tigers will head to the Lee’s Summit Summit Holiday Tournament on Dec. 19-20 to wrap up the 2025 portion of their schedule.
