A Friday afternoon traffic stop in Clay County quickly turned into a multi-agency pursuit that endangered drivers, shut down a major interstate, and ended in a standoff involving a knife-wielding suspect. Officials say the man, who admitted he was carrying crack cocaine, fled law enforcement at extreme speeds, passed through Mosby near Excelsior Springs, and resisted arrest for nearly two hours on I-35.
