What started as a dream among outdoor enthusiasts is now officially on the map. The City Council has approved an agreement with Urban Trail Co. to begin building a hand-cut singletrack trail system near the Excelsior Springs Airport, offering the community a new way to connect with nature, stay active, and support local businesses.
The July 21 City Council meeting reflected Excelsior Springs’ continued investment in growth and quality of life, with unanimous votes in favor of redevelopment, infrastructure upgrades, and outdoor recreation enhancements.
Staff Sergeant Heather Eaddy made local history this summer when she chose to take her Army Reserve enlistment oath inside Tiger Bowl, where she’s both a league bowler and employee. With a crowd of local seniors and veterans cheering her on, the ceremony highlighted how service and sport come together in this close-knit Excelsior Springs community.
