Ameren Missouri has launched an incentive program to encourage business customers to install EV charging. The Program is open to all Ameren Missouri business customers up to a maximum incentive of $500,000. For each Level 2 port (40amp max) a business can receive $5,000 and for each DC Fast Charger (DCFC) a business can receive up to $20,000. The maximum amount of the incentive is up to 50% of the total project cost. Level 2 Chargers have charge rates of roughly 25 miles of range per hour. These are recommended for workplaces, businesses, government facilities, and multi-family residences or apartment buildings. DC Fast Charger stations offer a charge of 80% battery capacity in 30 minutes and are recommended for businesses near highways, city centers, and business fleets.
According to documents provided by Ameren, there are many benefits of installing EV charging stations for employees, customers, and the community. Installing these stations will also help businesses establish themselves as leaders in sustainability and innovation. Some of the workplace benefits include attracting and retaining top talent, increasing employee satisfaction, potentially improving overall productivity, and giving them an edge over their competitors. Customers choose the equipment and installation contractor and have responsibility for managing the project. Ameren Missouri will review the application and must approve it prior to the start of construction. The maximum allowance of ports varies by business type.
