The Journey Of Opening A New School
Thanks to the community of Excelsior Springs, Cornerstone Elementary, located on the corner of Wornall and Lodwick was opened in the Fall of 2021. It was quite a sight to see as the years of planning and preparation by the school district and patrons were finally coming together.
143rd Terrace Bridge Closed Indefinitely After Structural Issues Found
With replacement costs estimated at over $800,000 and no funding secured, Excelsior Springs officials say the 143rd Terrace bridge will remain closed indefinitely following a failed safety inspection.
School District Exploring Free Meals Program
The Excelsior Springs School District (ESSD40) has announced an initiative to provide free lunch and breakfast to all students during March and April. Deputy Superintendent Dr. Mark Bullimore emphasized that this program underscores the district’s commitment to enhancing student health and academic performance.
