Excelsior Springs Police Revisit Andrew Frantz Missing Person Case

Excelsior Springs, Mo. (December 22, 2025) — The disappearance of Andrew Frantz has returned to public focus following a press release from the Excelsior Springs Police Department on Dec. 10, prompted in part by renewed internal review and ongoing family advocacy for answers.

Frantz was last heard from in April 2023 when he was 31 years old. In the press release, police described Frantz as a white male with blond hair and blue eyes, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, and approximately 175 pounds.

Police emphasized that the renewed attention stems from a deliberate effort to revisit the case and to acknowledge the family’s continued search for answers.

According to Lt. Ryan Dowdy, the department recently completed a focused internal assignment intended to reexamine the case with a fresh perspective. Corporal Hyatt was temporarily removed from regular duties and tasked solely with reviewing the Frantz case, revisiting reports, evidence, and prior leads without prior involvement or assumptions. The assignment ran from late October through early December and included follow-up interviews and travel.

Dowdy explained that while no new leads emerged, the special assignment did help to rule out previous leads that had hit a roadblock.

Dowdy said the goal was to ensure investigators have fully examined the evidence they have and to confirm there are no overlooked leads. “We wanted a fresh set of eyes to run everything we have into the ground,” he said, explaining that the department wanted to be confident it had exhausted existing information while remaining ready to act if new information emerges.

Police reiterated that Frantz’s case remains open and that investigators are still looking for credible information. They shared the importance of keeping Frantz’s name visible in the community.

Anyone with information about Frantz’s disappearance or whereabouts is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at (816) 474-8477 and reference case number ES202301017. The Excelsior Springs Police Department can also be reached at (816) 630-2000.

Family members and loved ones have also continued to advocate publicly for Andrew Frantz through a Facebook group dedicated to sharing updates, memories, and information related to his disappearance. The group can be found here.
