Stout, Ringenberg Lead Excelsior Springs at Stubbs Invitational

PLATTE CITY, Mo., Sept. 13, 2025 — Platte Ridge Park was the site of the Chris Stubbs Cross Country Invitational, featuring 22 high schools in a meet hosted by Platte County.

Excelsior Springs sent 10 runners to the hilly course, entering three on the girls’ side and three on the boys’ side in varsity races.

The Lady Tigers placed all three of their runners in the top 30. Senior Kirsten Stout led the way with a 21st-place finish in 24:45.4. Sophomore Elizabeth Ringenberg was close behind, clocking 24:45.8 for 23rd. Sophomore Luna Bigham crossed in 29:44.3, good for 29th place. Madilynn Conklin of Park Hill South won the girls’ race in 20:19.2, while host Platte County captured the team title ahead of Park Hill South and Park Hill.

On the boys’ side, senior Liam Hedding paced Excelsior Springs with a 39th-place time of 19:47.7. Senior William Tade finished 70th in 22:21.8, and senior Conrad Purnell came in 72nd with a time of 22:37. Henry Pickert of Pembroke Hill won the boys’ race in 16:34.8. Team standings mirrored the girls’ side, with Platte County taking first, Park Hill South second and Park Hill third.
