Ray County, Mo. — The Ray County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the 2022 discovery of human remains later identified as 25-year-old Colette Noelle Greene, also known as Nicole Joann Kasch.

Greene’s remains were found in April 2022 in a wooded area approximately five miles north of Henrietta, Missouri, along Highway 10. Investigators believe her body had been in the woods for six to eighteen months prior to its discovery, placing the likely time of her death in 2020 or 2021. Specific details about the manner of death have not been publicly released.

Greene was a daughter, sibling, friend, and new mother, described by those who knew her as deeply loved. Her death remains under active investigation by a task force that continues to follow up on numerous tips received over the past three years.

Ray County Sheriff Gary Blackwell, along with Greene’s family, expressed gratitude to community members who have shared information. Sheriff Blackwell specifically encouraged “the individuals who made multiple anonymous tips about Colette,” as well as anyone else with knowledge about her murder, to contact the Ray County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Blackwell, multiple tips have identified individuals in southern Jackson County who may have information related to the case. While no names have been released, Blackwell noted the support of the Ray County Prosecutor’s Office in issuing multiple investigative subpoenas and search warrants.

“Your stress and sleepless nights can end today,” Blackwell said. “For Colette and her family’s sake, come forward now.”

Sheriff Blackwell and Prosecutor Camille Johnston reminded the public that individuals who provide details about the case may be eligible for immunity from prosecution.

A $2,500 reward is being offered by KC Crimestoppers for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible. Tips can be submitted by calling 816-474-TIPS (8477), visiting kccrimestoppers.com, or emailing the Ray County Sheriff’s Office at tips@sheriff.raycountymo.gov.
