Downtown Trick or Treating

Be sure to make Downtown Excelsior Springs a stop on your Trick or Treating adventure this Halloween!
Our eateries, drinkeries, shops, boutiques and galleries can’t wait to see all the great costumes and hand out candy.
Enjoy trick or treating at participating businesses from 4:00 to 6:00 PM in Downtown Excelsior Springs!
All are invited to the Bill Payne Costume Contest promptly at 6:00 p.m. at the Clay Ray Veterans Hall located at 208 Veterans Memorial Drive (weather permitting). Hotdogs and soda will be available.
This tradition was begun by one of Excelsior Springs’ most beloved police chiefs, Bill Payne. He found a way to make Halloween safe and enjoyable for kids of all ages, keeping everyone busy so there was no time for “Tricks”! This year marks the 97th annual Bill Payne Costume Contest, a beloved tradition in our community!
