It’s a free experience designed to help participants better understand the challenges faced by those living in poverty. By stepping into real-life scenarios, participants can gain a deeper awareness of the tough decisions many people navigate daily.The Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) has been used nationwide since the 1970s by organizations like Universities and Community Action Networks. Research shows it changes participants’ ability to understand the experiences of those living in poverty and inspires meaningful conversations about how we can better serve those in need.Your Community Center is passionate about this community, providing free exciting events, giving back during the holidays, and making sure that the seniors in our community have food on snowy days and affordable lunch options throughout the week. We recognize that not every event or initiative will resonate with everyone, and that’s okay.
