Excelsior Springs’ Holiday Homes Tour Celebrates Seasonal Spirit and Community Support
This past Saturday, December 7th, the Excelsior Springs Christmas Committee successfully hosted its annual Holiday Homes Tour, an event that brought together community spirit and festive cheer. The tour featured six uniquely decorated homes, each showcasing their own version of holiday magic, attracting over 320 attendees—a new record for the event.
John and Jill Clark, residing on Kansas City Avenue, opened their historic home to visitors, with Ventana Gourmet Grill sponsoring their participation. Directly across the street, Keith and Jeri Bowen’s residence was featured, with sponsorship by ReeceNichols Excelsior Springs. Nearby, Eddy and Kim Barrera’s home, a charming attraction on the tour, was sponsored by the Wine and Shine Tasting Room.
A notable addition this year was the Bates-Jewell House Air B&B, owned and operated by Mayor Mark and AnnaSue Spohn. The property, located on the east side of Broadway, was decorated by 414 Company, with Willow Spring Mercantile providing holiday treats and Shamrock Hills Vineyard and Winery offering wine and convenient golf cart trips up to the property’s entrance.
The tour also included the Skyview Suites, situated above Style by Ry in downtown, presented by Rick and Robin Wilkins and sponsored by Other Trails Coffeehouse. Additionally, Neil Richardson of Paradise Development showcased one of the new home developments on Old Time Drive, with the home listed by Re/Max Area Real Estate and with some items staged by Junk’d Up Chicks.
“The Holiday Homes Tour not only celebrates the season but also supports the many activities of the Christmas Committee,” stated the Coordinator Melissa Bartlett. “From purchasing a new Mayor’s Christmas Tree to introducing new displays for the Lane of Lights, the funds raised here make a significant impact.”
With this event being one of their largest fundraisers, the Christmas Committee is already planning for next year and is actively seeking homeowners interested in participating in the 2025 tour.
