Volunteers Served a Feast of Appreciation at Annual Dinner

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, the city of Excelsior Springs hosted its 5th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner at the newly reopened Hall of Springs, located at the historic Hall of Waters. The event was held to honor the hard work and dedication of volunteers who have contributed to the city’s development and growth.


The event started at 6:00 PM with a delicious chicken dinner prepared by the culinary staff and students from Excelsior Springs Job Corps. The dinner was accompanied by live music from the Excelsior Springs High School Jazz Ensemble, which provided a perfect ambiance for conversation, camaraderie, and fun. The evening was filled with various activities to entertain the guests, including a game of bingo and a raffle draw. Many guests were lucky enough to win fantastic prizes that included gift certificates to local restaurants, shops, and other exciting items.

The Mayor of Excelsior Springs, Mark Spohn, thanked the more than 180 volunteers for their tireless efforts and contributions towards the city’s progress. He expressed his gratitude for the volunteers’ selfless service, which has helped the city prosper in so many ways. The event concluded on a high note with everyone leaving with a sense of appreciation and satisfaction. Volunteers seemed to appreciate the recognition and were grateful for the opportunity to interact with other volunteers and members of the community.
